The Lutheran Church in Norway’s historic church building in Narvik, which has undergone significant renovation since June 2025 is celebrating its official opening this Saturday and Sunday, August 14 and 15!   Additionally, the new pastor for the congregation, lestyn Jones, will be installed at the Divine Service on Sunday at 11am!   Reverend Jones will be taking Reverend Markus Snellman’s place as Reverend Snellman prepares to move to Oslo where, in October, he will become the new Bishop of the Lutheran Church in Norway.

There will be a presentation on Saturday at 2pm that will provide a history of the church and the significant restoration process.

If you are interested in attending, the address is 60 Dronningens Gate Narvik, Norway.   If you can’t get there in person, you can watch the livestream of the Saturday presentation at 2pm and the Sunday service at 11am.   To see the live streams, go to  Youtube.com/DenLutherskeKirkeiNarvik   Norway is 7 hours ahead of US Central Time.  So, if you are located in the states, you will need to get up very early for the Sunday service.

Feel free to follow them on their YouTube channel to see the progress – videos are posted sporadically.
